Tools Yous Will Need
three/8 Ratchet
18mm Socket
Long Funnel
Some Type of Pan Supplies Y'all Volition Need
ii Qts of Any Manual Trans. Fluid You Would Like to Utilize
(Optional) Magnetic Bleed Plug

*Keep in Mind Having An Aftermarket Intake Makes This Process A Lot Easier*

Get-go you want to find your drain plug and use the 3/8 ratchet to break it loose. Let all of the fluid empty out into your pan. Once all of your one-time trans. fluid is out, reinstall your drain plug.

Next y'all volition need to locate your fill plug, if you take an Injen cold air intake, the intake basically circles where the make full plug is. Break this loose with an 18mm socket. Add 2qts of whatever trans. fluid you have using a long funnel. I used Redline manual trans. fluid. Once all ii qts are added tighten your fill plug dorsum up.

If yous don't accept an Aftermarket intake it volition take a little longer since you have to have autonomously your stock intake box, but all together information technology shouldn't take longer than xv-20mins from offset to stop. If anyone needs any help with this DIY just pm me and ill exist more than happy to aid.

If you observe in your kickoff pic there is a 17mm nut with a crush washer higher up and towards the dorsum of the transmission. That is the filler hole for the tranny. Yous are supposed to fill upward the trans until the oil starts dripping out of that hole.

And make sure your machine is level!

The DIY is appreciated, but I don't think it applies well to most people since we don't have access to a pit.

So is the fill location not the 1 he points out and puts the funnel in then?

Or practice yous drain, supercede plug, then pause that one loose, then fill from the pinnacle until information technology starts to come out effectually the loose one above and posterior to the plug?

The fill plug is in a higher place and backside the bleed plug. You fill it `till you spill it.

yous don't need a pit, its as simple every bit an oil change.

Yes, it is as easy as an oil modify or even a brake job, but information technology misses the finer points of doing this in one's own garage though.

The motorcar needs to stay level for a proper drain and make full. Access to the bolts and having enough room for a drain pan is not possible without jacking upwards the machine and removing a tire. As far as the finer points, this can be accomplished in a few ways from my own experiences. Either put the car upwardly on four jack stands or lift it up and bleed as much every bit possible and so lower it and get a different catch container for when it is lowered to become a full drain.

What you have provided is a decent basic overview in an ideal situation.

Our trannies are not designed to be run with gear oil. You will somewhen ruin the needle bearings with that weight oil. They are designed for regular 5w 30 motor oil. Synchromesh is skilful stuff also.
